ESEC Joins Conference to Accelerate Green Port Transformation
Green Port Transition – An Inevitable Trend for Vietnam’s Maritime Industry
On September 9 in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC), in collaboration with Schneider Electric, organized the conference “Partnership and Innovation for Green Ports.” The event focused on key topics including optimizing energy management, reducing carbon emissions, applying digital technologies in port operations, and advancing Vietnam’s sustainable development strategy with the Government’s vision for green ports.

The conference welcomed Mr. Đồng Mai Lâm – Country President of Schneider Electric Vietnam & Cambodia, along with international experts from five countries who shared their extensive experience in energy management and digital port transformation. Their insights offered advanced solutions and suggested roadmaps tailored to Vietnam’s conditions.

On VIMC’s side, the conference was attended by CEO Lê Anh Sơn, Deputy CEO Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh, senior leaders of specialized departments, and representatives of member units.
Innovative Solutions for Green Port Models
During the conference, Schneider Electric showcased solutions already implemented successfully at major ports worldwide. These solutions aim to gradually replace fossil fuels in port operations. For instance, shore-to-ship power supply enables vessels at berth to draw electricity from the grid instead of running diesel engines, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution at ports. The system also supports intelligent energy management and optimizes the use of renewable energy resources.

In port automation and digitalization, the Unified Operations Center (UOC) powered by AVEVA industrial software and digital twin technology was introduced. This solution collects real-time data from sensors, devices, and port systems, then stores, standardizes, and processes it to deliver intuitive reports. Port operators can monitor performance, make faster decisions, and respond effectively to incidents.
In addition, the IoT-based EcoStruxure platform, together with EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert and Power Operation, provides real-time monitoring and control of port energy systems and infrastructure, enhancing overall efficiency and enabling sustainable port operations.
ESEC – Schneider Electric’s Master EcoXpert in Vietnam
Participating in the event, East Sea Energy Environment Company (ESEC) was honored to contribute as Schneider Electric’s Master EcoXpert – a strategic partner in energy and digital solutions. With more than 11 years of pioneering in industrial technology, ESEC affirms its position as a leader in implementing energy management and digital transformation solutions, directly contributing to the realization of green port goals in Vietnam.
At the conference, Mr. Trần Thanh Khang – Chairman of the Members’ Council of ESEC Group – shared in-depth perspectives on key technologies that ESEC is delivering:
- Microgrid and Energy Management Solutions: Supporting smart energy management to improve electricity efficiency and reduce operational costs for ports.
- AVEVA PI System: Leveraging industrial data platforms to optimize port operations through digitalization, providing real-time monitoring and advanced data analytics.

With proven experience from numerous successful projects for major industrial clients in Vietnam, ESEC demonstrates the practical application and value of technology in advancing the nation’s green port journey.
The Government of Vietnam has identified green port development as a strategic direction to enhance the competitiveness of the logistics industry, while contributing to the nation’s commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

By integrating advanced technology with a highly skilled team of local engineers, ESEC is committed to accompanying port operators and logistics enterprises on their journey to realizing the model of green ports – smart ports – sustainable ports in Vietnam.
